R6 - Winged Retaliation

I left Pecha in the care of my most-trusted companion, Luna as I mounted Triss and the three of us careened through the sun-drenched skies. I pulled my Skarsword from my belt, pointing it at our target and gave the command.

"Charge!"

We fired off special attacks alongside other trainers trying to fend off the gargantuan Groudon. Soon we decided to move in closer hoping to do more damage, but before we could, I heard Pecha calling to me from the back or an airborne Luna.

"Grace! Watch out!"

A sudden onslaught of a heated Ancientpower attack came raining down on us. Despite our efforts to dodge, Triss' wing got hit, and we hit the ground, the fiery boulders not far behind. Clutching the injured Togekiss to my chest, I looked up to see one of the immense, glowing rocks falling right toward us.
As I cringed in anticipation, I heard the flapping of wings and a shrill cry from Gale.
I looked up.
Using Ice Beam, Gale had formed a giant, icy blade and stabbed the rock cleanly through, stopping it in an eruption of steam. But before I even had the chance to thank her, she was pulled by her new ice-clad beak. Her attack had not only pierced through the boulder, it had lodged itself into the blue crevice of Groudon's left claw.
Triss shook off the shock from her earlier hit and we flew off to help Gale. Simultaneously, I grabbed the Swanna and plunged my sword into the blue marking to take some of the stress off of Gale's bill.
Groundon's arm yanked us around until a powerful combination of an uppercut from Judith and a Flare Blitz from her Arcanine to the jaw, causing Groudon to reel backward and fling us from his claw. We went flying and once again were grounded for a second time.

"Hey! Girl with the feathers!"
I looked up, the Groudon-punching Elite was calling over to me. Or at least I thought so.

I pointed to myself, dumbfounded, "Me?"

"Well yeah you!" She replied, her teeth showing in a wild grin, "You seem pretty skilled at flying. Go gather up some other trainers with flying Pokemon and attack that mountain from above."

I felt pretty honored to be asked to lead a charge in my own element, but I was a bit reluctant to follow through. I sat there silent, thinking to myself.

"Heh, and if you do a good job I just might give you the chance to battle me,"

At that I knew I had to do it. I couldn't back down from this challenge. If I wanted to stay in the competition, no, keep the city on the island I had come to love so much from being destroyed, I had to take action. I could feel Triss felt the same way, or perhaps she was influencing my emotions again. Either way, Triss, Gale and I stood.
Triss and I took off together with Gale next to us. "Gale let's attract some attention, surround my sword with Ice Beam!" The Swanna obliged, encircling, but not freezing the sword, with the frozen, glowing beam.

"Hey!" I cried out, "Anyone with Pokemon that can take to the skies, follow me and we'll strike Groudon from above,"

Soon enough, a whole flock of bird, dragon, and other winged Pokemon formed. We spiraled into a circle formation forming a halo of angry flyers above Groudon's head. It was so thrilling, I had never felt my pulse rush so madly in battle before. I let loose the rest of my battling team to join in the fight.

I brought my frozen blade and then swung it forward with both hands, signaling for the other trainers to fire of attacks, both physical and special. Triss and I swooped in closer so I could strike the ground titan myself.

OKAY. So I tried combining some traditional media in new ways. First I laid down a layer of watercolor pastels to get a feel for the colors and highlights. Then I would add more colors and shade with Copics. And finally I would add some touch-ups with chalk pastel and gel pen.
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE FEEDBACK ON THIS NEW TECHNIQUE. Does it help the piece or hurt it? Are there smarter ways you think I could go about it? LET ME KNOW~
